Today we drew the diagram for demo trans and we went over videos. I think i will do ok on the quiz, but i still think its a little confusing.

Today we got a handout on demographic transitionn. It seems interesting and i highlited some good notes.

Today we reviewed our test. I got a 76. I wish i did better but my grade is still a solid b.
the highlight of the class was cristo getting screamed at.

five major religions

Today in class we learned about christainity, hinduism, and islam. We learned some interesting facts like how christainity has 2.2 billion followers (the most in the world) also christainity has many denominations. Islam has the five pillars which include fasting, praying, alms-giving and etc and hinduism is more like a way of life then a religion.

review test

Today we reviewed the test in class. I got a 36/40 which is a 90%. That is a great score and out of the four questions i got wrong at least two of them were one of the hardest on the test. Doing so well on the test makes it easier to study for exams. Its only a month away.

test today

Today we had a test in class on population and settlement. Some questions were harder then others but all around i think i got a good score. The hardest part for me was when we had to guess the order of countries. For example, one of the questions was put these countries from highest to lowest based on their net migration rate. Those questions were kinda difficult but i still think i did well.

presentation

Me and my group presentented somalia and japan. Our presentation was kinda long but thats fine. I gave myself an 80, christo an 85, lily an 90, and nick and david 90s as well.

Lily and I worked on the project and i think we are going to be ready to present tommorrow. Japan is kinda challenging but we got it done.

Review test

Today we reviewed the test. I got an 85%. I am happy with my grade. I also enjoyed the conversations the class had today. The review of the test made sense and i think i will do better in the future.

There are over 7.6 billion people on the planet right now
It increases by over 73 million per year.
Life expectancy: the average number of years to be lived by a group of people born in the same year.
I also learned that there is a birth every 8 seconds and death every 11 seconds
some people migrate and there are two diffferent catagories. One is push forces and that includes: civil war
environmental degradation

Then there are pull forces: better economic opprtunity

Today we had a test i didn't prepare well for the test but i think i did ok. I finished my english hw and so im gonna try to go to club practice tonight. Im excited for hoco idk if i'm bringing someone or not but anyways have a good rest of your day.

The pop quiz went well i got an 8 out of ten.

We compared the mercator and the peters map. The mercator map is a good representation when your looking at a smaller view of the world. The peters map is a good representation when looking at a bigger view of the world. The peters map is a more accurate and realistic map compared to the mercator map. I think we should start using peters maps in school to give students a better visual of the actual world.

Test today

Today we took a test, to me it wasn't hard it was just diffcult coming up for ideas for the essay.
I was so tired today from yesterday I barely had anytime to study but i think i still did well.
I have multiple tests next week so my weekend is full of studying. I have a game on sunday in potmac that should be fun. I have practice today then i'm going to support the volleyball team to hopefully win us battle of bel air this year.

Today we finished A Message To Garcia.
To sum up the essay in short words, Hubbard talks about a guy named Rowan who was able to deliver a message with no questions asked. Hubbard then went on to make fun of the average worker calling them ugly and incapable.

This relates to high school because there could be a really great student with a class of idiots.
That student would shine because he is a better worker and a better kid overall.

So this sums up today's lesson

Hello, Mr.Schick

Today in class we went over last night's blog. You were very proud of everyone's blog and that we were able to turn it in on time and the right way.

We then tackled the topic on why high school is the hardest kind of schooling you'll go through.
I remember you asking why high school is different then middle school and I said becuase they do not hold your hand and a lot of teachers in middle school were lousy unlike at John Carroll.
Also many people in our class said a lot of differences was having to juggle high school sports and club sports which really relates to me, I have practice everyday from 3-5 then I would have to go home, eat, shower and then get started and i'm sure when classes get into full swing it will take more effort. Lastly I remember one girl said something about time mangement and you really liked that one you even rang the bell. Time mangement will be a big time factor in how well i do and how others do. I could be a great student with a sport on the side but then my time mangement could be terrible then my grade starts to fall.

We also read a passage called "A Message To Garica". We read a few paragraphs all with distanct meanings. Mr.Schick you did a great job explaining the paragraphs to the class. You also made class really fun today.

Today was an amazing day, full of energy and full of excitement. I feel like I belong here and I am welcomed here by everyone including the teachers, staff, faculity and upperclassmen. I'm ready for a great year with you Mr.Schick.

The first answer to your question is...

I think the best part of my day was to walk around and find all my classes. I got to finally meet all my teachers and learn about class needs, class expections and etc...

To answer the second part of your question...

I think the worst part of my day is realizing that i don't know a lot of people yet and that i don't have classes with all my friends like last year. I feel that classwork will be harder and there is no more holding hands which will take getting used to but in the end it will work for me.

my answer to final question...

I don't like my seat as of right now because i don't really know anyone but once i get to know people it will get better.

To end on a final note i just wanted to inform you that i have loss hearing in my right ear but it did bother me in class at all today.
